Comparative & Superlative Adjectives and Examples! There are three forms of adjectives in English- comparative, superlative and positive. Comparative adjectives are used to compare two things, while superlative adjectives are used to compare more than two things. In order to make these comparisons, we use the following structure: comparative adjective + than + second comparative adjective.

For example, “He is taller than me” or “This book is more interesting than that one.”

To form the superlative adjective, we use the word “most” before the comparative adjective.

For example, “He is the most tallest person I know” or “This book is the most interesting book I have ever read.” Let’s take a look at some examples!

  • He is taller than me.
  • This book is more interesting than that one.
  • Most people think that he is the most tallest person in the world.
  • However, I believe that this book is the most interesting book ever written.
