1. By adding a syllable

In this type of masculine and feminine formation, we simply add a syllable or suffix at the end of a masculine word, i.e. adding a syllable ess at the end of the masculine word ‘lion’ will give us a Feminine word ‘lioness’.

 2. By Eliminating Vowel and Adding a Syllable
